Selected within the French “Investments for the Future” program as an “Initiative of Excellence”, the PhD program in Digital Public Health is strongly focused on innovation and cross-disciplinarity. Students benefit from a variety of educational programs, ambitious training initiatives, international conferences and top-quality research facilities and attend a series of classes in public health, epidemiology, informatics, statistics and the basics of health communication, economics, law, sociology and anthropology
Our researchers and partners offer workshops based on their diverse and complementary expertise, such as modeling in health, mobile technologies for mental health, or evaluation of complex interventions.

Digital Public Health is one of the Graduate Programes of the Graduate Research School of the University of Bordeaux.

THE COHORT

A group of doctoral students from various backgrounds interested in the digital public health domain and issues, and enrolled in a thesis at the Bordeaux University in one of its 8 doctoral schools.
The subject of their thesis is related to the DPH environment ex. the evaluation of a smartphone app for running, machines learning to predict suicidality, etc.
Students must have a great written and oral level in English and be willing to work in an interdisciplinary research environment.
All PhD students from the Bordeaux Population Health belong to the cohort.
As members of the cohort, PhD students have (1) the right to attend free classes on public health, statistics, epidemiology, computer science and (2) benefit from long and short stays in different countries for congresses or collaborations (these stays are offered by the Digital Public Health graduate program).

Like for the Master’s program in Public Health Data Science, one of our PhD students spent half of her PhD period in McGill and is spending the other half in Bordeaux. She is due to obtain a double diploma. She has two supervisors, one from McGill and another from the University of Bordeaux.
